2010년 12월 23일 릴리즈된 인텔 칩셋 소프트웨어 설치 유틸리티(Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility)로 인텔 칩셋이 장착된 메인보드에서만 사용할 수 있습니다. Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility에서 지원하는 기능은 크게 여섯 가지로 구분이 가능합니다.
핵심 PCI와 ISAPNP 서비스, AGP 지원 및 IDE/ATA33/ATA66/ATA100 스토리지 지원, SATA 스토리지와 USB 지원등 각종 장치들의 최신 기능 지원과 각종 주변장치에서 최적화 할 수 있는 Intel 칩셋 구성 요소들 검증 하는 기능을 포함하고 있습니다.
인텔 칩셋 장치 소프트웨어는 Windows* INF 파일을 설치합니다. INF 파일은 AGP, USB, Core PCI 및 ISAPNP 서비스와 같은 특정 기능에 맞게 칩셋을 구성하는 방법을 운영 체제에 알려줍니다.
